Me and my girlfriend went to the coffee shop, bought some weed that had tobacco mixed in it, asked if we could smoke there and the lady told us that we could go to the bar. I was never so mistreated in my entire life. We just wanted to have a good time in family. We left! We never come back to this horrible place. We waited for him to come to take our orders and we asked that he should be more careful be more respectful to his clients. We felt embarrassed and ashamed with that behavior m. That it is a clear rule and he would give us time to chose what we wanted. Told us in screaming voice, angry ish, that each of us should have a drink. After a long time waiting at the tables he came for the orders and we asked for two waters, (we were six). We kept insisting to try to order and the waiter finally was so rude that we wanted to live after that. But no signs of any drink or care in relation to us. We tried to order drinks to go, and they kept telling us to live the corridor free. We asked for staying at the bar, the only places available.
We entered at the bar and the tables were full. The waiter and the waitress were very rude and impolite. I was in a family trip in Amsterdam and we came to the uptown Barney to grab few waters, after buying some products at the coffee shop. the airport and we walked all the way there to use one of the volcanos (with the last bit of the product I purchased in this very coffee shop the previous day, didn’t have enough for a J) i asked for a drink and the bag for the volcano and was told I had to buy more product before I could use it because the drink on its own did not suffice, even though I was using the stuff I bought from this establishment the previous day and I could prove it too! It was the middle of the day and not very busy at all so it would have done absolutely no harm but the guy behind the counter wouldn’t budge.Īlso when we visited the previous day when we bought some of their product we sat down to chill with the volcano and we were told spending €16 on product already was actually not enough and we had to purchase drinks on top of this if we wanted to stay! Seriously this place is a microcosm for what Amsterdam has become, a money grabbing conveyor belt of consumerism where you’re swallowed up one end and spat out the other €600 euros lighter for very little in return! It’s lost it’s charm and appeal since I started visiting 18 years ago and I will not be returning ever again because it’s no longer worth paying for the experience you get, the dictionary definition of a tourist trap! More This was what was going to be my last visit to a coffee shop in Amsterdam and boy did it give me a reminder as to why I am never returning!
